Del-a-lum performance bushings are available for the stock lower control arm. Installation will require welding on the stock lower shaft and on the lower control arm. The kit comes with four studs, the stud’s tap into the ends of the stock shaft, extending it. Once the studs are tapped into position they must be Tig welded. The shaft length must be lengthened in order to use the correct hardware for adjusting the pre load of the Del-a-lum bushing. The bushing adjusts similar to a wheel bearing.
There are also 4 plates included in the kit. The plates will have to be fitted to the end of the control arm and then welded. The plates reinforce the bushing area in order to support the Del-a-lum bushing. In reality you should reinforce this area anyway. The kit also increases the surface area of the bushing for greater holding capability. You may have noticed the lower stud has a long shoulder machined into them. That ear is the increase in bushing surface area.
The Del-a-lum bushings will control the lower arm from deflecting during normal and hard driving. They are definitely worth doing. An easier version would be to purchase the tubular lower arms and just bolt them on. Part # gwcta-31L.
