Del-a-lum performance bushings are available for the stock upper control arm. The bushings press into the stock control arm and can be used with stock or performance offset shafts. Installation will require welding on the stock upper shaft. The kit comes with four studs, the stud’s tap into the ends of the stock shaft, extending it. Once the studs are tapped into position they must be Tig welded. The shaft length must be lengthened in order to use the correct hardware for adjusting the pre load of the Del-a-lum bushing. The bushing adjusts similar to a wheel bearing.
If you would rather not weld the upper shafts, there are 2 different shafts available for replacement. Part number gw719 is a zero offset upper shaft made correctly for using Del-a-lum bushings. The shaft can also be used as a factory replacement with rubber bushings or polyurethane. Another shaft gw706 is a offset shaft that is used for correcting frame problems or for increasing the available alignment. This is desirable for road racing and aggressive driving.
