This well engineered and clean looking kit offers a 2 to 2 ½” drop in the rear without sacrificing travel, ride quality or performance. The kit provides all the brackets, hardware and components to convert to a rear coil over. One of the nicest parts about the kit is any control arm package can work with this kit, whether you have stock control arms, Global West control arms or other aftermarket control arms. The unique part about this kit is the location of the coil over itself, Global West moves the coil over shock assembly to the front of the differential, some welding and grinding is required, but the kit itself locates on the rear end. This makes for an easy installation and virtually error proof when locating brackets and shock positioning. The sway bar runs to the back of the car from the differential, making it much more efficient, which also allow Global West to drop the sway bar size significantly and get the same results as a big bar. When moving the shock to the front of the rear end the load of the car is being held up by the shock assembly in the proper location, in this case the original coil spring index is on the frame side.
This coil over kit is built and designed with the highest quality shocks today, Penske. These shocks were designed by Global West and Penske engineers, to allow for the appropriate shock valving and shock design. The Penske shocks allow for the proper amount of travel when the car is lowered because of the remote canister which is mounted to the frame next to the shock. With the shock assembly to the front of the rear end, the assembly in straight up and down allowing for a one to one spring ratio to better tune the car and setup spring rates properly. When the coil over is in the standard location, in the stock shock location behind the rear end, the angle of the shocks reduces the effectiveness of the springs causing poor performance and ride quality. Also this kit is designed with anti squat brackets located on the lower control arm bracket on the rear end side. If you didn’t have these brackets when you lower the car the geometry in the rear reacts much slower making the rear of the car dive down and your tire hook up under launching conditions, or high torque conditions. NOTE: These shocks are double adjustable, allowing for rebound adjustments and compression adjustments to fine tune your high performance chassis . Non adjustable and single adjustable shocks are available.
