The Camaro coilover kit installs without any modifications to the frame. The spring at the top matches the original spring dimensions and then tapers down to 2.5-inch flat ground base. The spring rests on a special collar located on the shock. The shock is threaded and by turning the collar up or down on the shock body, raises or lowers the car. A special wrench is also included in the kit for turning the collar. The shock is mounted on the top of the control arm instead of the bottom. Special built lower arms are designed to handle the conversion. These arms have a (h) in the part number. The shock has a knob on the side that adjusts the dampening for fine tuning the car. Shocks that have two knobs on the base are double adjustable and can give greater dampening and control over the suspension.
